Driving Innovations in Agriculture
In collaboration with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Saumu Empire spearheaded a two-year research initiative to enhance garlic farming in Kenya. Focused on addressing key challenges in propagation, production, and crop management, the study examined multiple traditional garlic species. The result: JKUAT-1, a groundbreaking hybrid variety poised to revolutionize garlic farming across Africa.

Garlic Farming
We are dedicated to transforming garlic farming into a highly profitable and sustainable venture. In collaboration with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) we conducted an 18-month research project focused on improving garlic production in Kenya.
The result was JKUAT-1, a breakthrough hybrid solution developed from the Moyale variety to address key challenges in propagation, crop management, and yields. Today, we apply this innovation across local garlic varieties, helping farmers achieve better performance and higher returns.
